Part 2 of Mehr’s double feature, which was recorded in May of 2011, is a bit more jumpy and hyper than Part 1. Even though it still possesses dark and interesting undertones like the first mix, it is energy driven and explores another side of his style. Here's the second half of your dosage.

Anyone who has seen MEHR, aka Ramses Santos, half of production duos Auricula and Third Ear Syndrome, knows that his eclectic selection of tracks and creative ways of drawing them together always lead to good things.

In this podcast we bring you a double feature with two mini-mixes recorded live. Part 1, which was recorded in February is an intricate dark minimal techno set which includes an unreleased original track - part of Mehr’s EP coming out this summer. Part 2, which was recorded in May 2011 is bouncy and bright but also dark and mysterious. Listen to these small dosages and cure your cravings for more.

You already know Alkalina from a few of our past podcast editions. This is another elegant output by one of Bacteria’s top DJ’s. Colombia native, Giovanni Jimenez, Co-founder of Biatch Corp label, and whose Trilogy warehouse parties became a staple in Brooklyn’s techno underground in 2010 makes us an exclusive mix for February. This set defines part New York City techno underground with it’s entertaining and intricate soundscapes, that keep your ears attached.

Airdrop’s Connie, AKA CONSTAR, brews us a set in which she serves a piece of herself, by showing off her storytelling skills. As a resident dj for Resolute and having her original material remixed by artists such as Mothership’s Voodeux, she has become one of NYC’s most respected female dj/producers. This is a taste of NYC’s true techno/tech-house underground, with a mix that weaves through the dark and soulful elements of tech-house, and staying inquisitive and intelligent throughout.

It hasn’t been long since Third Ear Syndrome decided to split their musical styles, creating this project, in which they dig deep into the many levels of techno, but they have already made a name in the underground techno scene in NYC. Their sound is always dark, smart and fun; Bacteria style. If you have experienced Auricula’s set you already know. If you haven’t, in this mix you can hear exactly why every time they play they get the zombies on their feet. “To Wake Up the Zombies”, is a energetic, inquisitive, never boring, and never apologetic high-strung techno mix; just in time for Halloween. This is Auricula . . . Wake up . . .

One thing we’ve learned about Lara since she joined Bacteria last year is that her minimal techno and tech-house sets are full of groove, but they can also make feel like you’ve gone cuckoo and maybe lost a couple of marbles in the process. This mix is a showcase of her various styles, venturing through segments of bouncy and dark tech-house, without neglecting her disco roots.

A little less dark than the last mix from Alkalina that we shared with you; but just as engaging. Like all of his mixes, this one is intelligent and well thought out, throughly researched and carefully assembled. It’s an exploration through the many different variations of tech house; it’s spacey at times but provokes the ears with hints of soul and Chicago-house elements.

Hailing from Denton, TX, Jordan Bailey weaves together his peculiar point of view and the juxtaposition of samples, sequences and loops. While doing this he manages not to fall into the style bubble, which is easy to do in today’s market. The result is a collage that taps into a variety of styles keeping you on your aural toes. We could give this new sound a name, but we’ll let you decide.

If you have made it out to our Skweee! Nights in Brooklyn, NY you might have an idea of what KidLogic is up to. With his take on modern glitch hop, skweee and various sub genres within the realms of dubstep, Los Angeles based producer KidLogic brings us a mix where he shows off his talent by loading up this hour set with 27 tracks including- 5 originals. Two words: Funky Electronics! Since 2006, Kid Logic has been hosting a show on Dubstep.fm and has releases with various record labels. Enjoy this west coast funk and have a lookout for his forthcoming releases.

This very tech-y, smart style of electro that Third Ear brings you on this mix is not easy to come across, unless you’ve seen these guys. Each track of this mix will bring you deeper into their twisted world, as Third Ear Syndrome has a good habit of finding the hardest and most complex sounding hidden gems. It is strongly recommended to listen at high volume.

Straight from the underground of a scene at the center of the Caribbean: Puerto Rico. Alkalina, during the last couple of years, has earned a spot in the Puerto Rican electronic scene as one of the best minimal techno/tech-house dj’s, as an essential part of the “PR Minimal Militia” crew. With this set he shows his skills/ear selecting complex interesting tracks, full of groove but keeping it dark all the way to the end. Enjoy.
